I’m sure you’re all absolutely brimming with excitement (and perhaps a bit of nervousness!) My name is Nikki Sealey and I work in Compassion’s Communications department.
Just in case any of you have not received a phone call from me at some point this week, I just wanted to drop you a line to say that I will be sending you some materials in the post when you return from Kenya.
We encourage all our Advocates to have a go at gaining some local press coverage about your experience in Kenya on your return. To help you with this, we’ll send you a small ‘press pack’ containing a pro forma press release and a list of your local newspapers. Sheena, Bronwyn or Clare will take a great photo of you whilst in Kenya too so you can send this along with your press release!

WELCOME
Welcome to the Advocates' Kenya Tour website. Here you can keep up to date with the activities of our group of 22 advocates as we travel to Kenya from the 1st to the 10th of October to see the work of Compassion.
Advocates are sponsors with a heart for our ministry who volunteer some of their time on an ongoing basis to promote Compassion in their churches and within their spheres of influence.
The team will spend time meeting staff and children in projects, visiting the homes of Compassion sponsored children, seeing how the country office operates and meeting formerly sponsored children.
We will try to update the site each day whilst we are in Kenya and we hope you find it interesting. Enjoy!
Technically challenged...
Well all, having responded to some great emails last night I thought that they would up load to this blog thing...how wrong (should have asked a five year old to show me) Anyway I thought i'd cut & paste my email into the blog & was staggered to see it had worked although it gives no clue who its from... So any way we are Martyn & Heather from Guernsey & will NOT be bringing a laptop, were still learning to drive a mobile phone...one thing at a time...

Hello there from Guernsey!
Heather & I would like to say were looking forward to meeting you all on this trip & are expecting a wonderful time of blessing together! We've been out today getting all sorts of fun stuff for the kids & its looking like we wont have much room for our clothes at the moment! Cant wait to see those smiles & faces... we have so much to learn from these kids about contentment & gratitude.
